Dressed to the nine´s on Pelana Beach

I smiled as I watched the bouquet of flowers hit the sand, action shot, and one of the flower heads rolled away from the bunch.

In Sri Lanka weddings play a massive part in the religious values of the people, marriage is very important, 'someone to look after you when you get old' I was once told while arguing against it. Hotels all advertise for them as they have large parties, with everyone dressing in traditional clothing, the women look beautiful in their dresses embroidered with gold patterns. 

For those who know a little about photography, early morning and dusk are the best time to take photo's, capturing the best light.

Nearly every morning on Pelana beach, you can watch as a photographer leads a couple through a phase of poses to capture their memory on film.
They smile and giggle, uncomfortable of the fact that people may be watching.

I have heard that men get married at around 26 and take their brides of 18 or 19, maybe this is why the guy was so ´for´ someone looking after you when you older.
